Understanding the Law of Attraction

Let me make this very simple for you:

You ARE the Law of Attraction.

There is no question of the Law of Attraction ‘not working’ for you. Neither is the Law of Attraction something to ‘believe in’. Do you exist? If your answer to this question is yes, then the Law of Attraction is in operation.

You are always attracting exactly what you are radiating. This is a fundamental Law of Creation. There are no mistakes. What you put out is what you get back. What you put on the film reel is what is projected on to the movie screen. You are creating everything in your reality, both the things you desire and the things you do not desire. Is your boss a tyrant? It’s your responsibility. Are your children rude and arrogant? It’s your responsibility. Disagree with the war in Afghanistan? The war is your responsibility. Read about the Japan earthquake in your newspaper? The earthquake is your responsibility. Concerned about children in third world countries dying of hunger? Their suffering is your responsibility.

Here is the rub for many people: they are creating their reality by default, rather than by conscious choice. It is for this reason that they complain “the Law of Attraction doesn’t work for me!” Let me state this clearly once and for all:

You never get what you want in life; you only ever get who you are being.

Who you are being is determined by your most dominant vibrational frequency patterns — your signature tune, if you will. And you have the power to change your signature tune at any given moment. What tune are you currently contributing to the Symphony of Life that we call the Uni-verse (One-song)?

What causes someone to question their faith in their ability to attract is the fact that they are a slave to their subconscious mind. This is what I mean when I say someone is creating their reality by default. They are ruled by their subconscious programming. In other words, they allow their signature tune to be determined by memories. Eckhart Tolle calls this memory collective ’the painbody’ and it carries every single painful memory that our soul has ever experienced since the beginning of time. Many (if not most) people are continually regurgitating and living through these ‘stuck’ memories (albeit with different players and situations), thus giving rise to the perfectly understandable belief that what they are experiencing is not their responsibility.

Until we make a conscious decision to stop swimming in the polluted swamp of our subconscious memories, playing out the same old dramas over and over again, it is difficult to see through the illusion of this ‘victim’ mentality.

Have you noticed that whenever you experience a problem you are there?

What is the problem? Who is the problem? You are the problem! The world is your creation. If you look carefully, you will realise that whatever you call the world and perceive as the world is your world. And yours alone. This is why no two people will ever have exactly the same experience of a given situation. Take my friend’s recent birthday party, for example. I had the most wonderful evening, filled with joy, laughter and connection with friends. Sitting on a table in the corner of the room for most of the evening was a depressed looking guy who made no effort to interact with anyone else at the party. Was his experience of the party the same as my experience of the party? No. Were we co-existing in the same world? No. His experience was determined by his own unique ‘map of reality’ in which only he exists. My experience was determined by my own unique ‘map of reality’ in which only I exist. Were we even in the same room together? No. I created a simulation of this guy in my world; he created a simulation of me in his world. It was the illusion of space and time that appeared to place us in the same room within the same world.

What was the guy in the corner doing in my world, you may ask? I’ll tell you what he was doing: he was reflecting back an aspect of myself that felt isolated, lonely and unloved (an aspect of myself that I have since healed and re-integrated into my being). He was in my reality because I put him there! My experience of this guy as a lonely and rather depressed figure was my problem. My responsibility.

You are the problem and the solution; leave the world alone!

There is no objective world. The world is a subjective reality; a personal creation. This is why I quietly laugh to myself (with compassion) when I hear someone talking about their well intentioned desire to “change the world” through this or that action. Only someone who has no idea who they really are would set out to change a world that they themselves are creating. The world of which they speak exists in their imagination alone. The only thing to change is your view of yourself. Who you are being is all that matters.

It is possible to transmute ALL your pain into peace without re-experiencing it.

Of course, it’s your choice — don’t let me spoil your fun — but transmutation is my preferred option. I have been making a concerted effort to clear up all the remaining garbage contained in my subconscious mind for the best part of a year now. I spend at least one hour each day practicing an ancient Hawaiian technique called Ho’oponopono, as shared by one of my greatest teachers and inspirations, Dr Hew Len. This powerful process has the same effect on my subconscious memories as enzymes in a toxic pond.

For those of you who are not familiar with Dr Hew Len, he is the therapist who healed a ward of mentally insane criminals in a couple of years without ever meeting any of them in person. The case is well-documented so I won’t repeat the whole story here. Suffice to say, Dr Hew Len understood that the only way these inmates could be in his world was if he had put them there. So he spent the majority of his time sitting alone in an office looking through their files and healing those parts of himself that were responsible for creating his experience of each of them. Dr Hew Len saw himself as the problem, not the inmates.

It was Dr Hew Len’s remarkable story that snapped me out of my daze once and for all. Once his Ho’oponopono teachings had entered my consciousness there was no turning back. Thanks to his example, I now know unequivocally that I AM the Law of Attraction.

Who brought Dr Hew Len into my world? Who brought this particular post into your world?
